Member Spotlight: Josué Oliveras Pérez

“We believe small businesses can change the world. We also believe we can help small businesses grow and succeed. Therefore, we believe we can change the world.”

Josué OIiveras Pérez, co-founder of Humble Fox Media digital marketing agency, tells us about his journey creating a company designed to help other local small businesses reach their full potential.

Who are your customers and how do they find you? What lessons have you learned while building a customer base?

My customers are small business owners that are looking to double their sales. While building a customer base I have learned that many business owners lack a comprehensive and unified framework for growth.

Tell us about one of the biggest obstacles you have faced in your work and how you overcame it.

Let’s face it–there are many digital marketing agencies out there, so my biggest obstacle was not falling in the trap of merely offering services and therefore neglecting my clients’ needs for growth. I overcame this by implementing education for my prospects first and then helping them navigate to their desired goals, focusing on one tactic at a time.

Where do you see your company 5 years from now?

I see Humble Fox Media helping double the sales of more than 10,000 small businesses with the implementation of a value first approach to fulfill their marketing needs. We don’t do marketing in a vacuum, so it is really important for me to create road maps for small businesses in order to turn prospects into raging fans of their businesses.

How do you define success?

I define success as having the capacity to focus on one task at a time, finish it, and then re-visit the next idea. Once I can find that, then I can be successful in other areas of my personal and business life. I guess I am happy to admit that in order to be successful it is also important to delegate tasks that can free up some time to run the business. This new found free time helps me travel and taste different beers anywhere I go.

Who has been your greatest inspiration?

Hmmm, this is going to sound cheesy but…The drummer for Def Leppard has really motivated me to complete tasks and do my best. Against all odds, he retaught himself to play the drums with one arm and devised a system to help him execute the drum playing. Although not a drummer myself–I play guitar–it is refreshing to see how innovative the human mind can be when it comes to processes.

What made you choose SURGE? What has your experience been like and who would you recommend it for?

I chose SURGE because I needed a space that I could provide education for my clients and work on growing my agency without distractions. A big plus for me was the fact that there are no co-working spaces in Gig Harbor that maintain a community of small business and help them succeed. I meet with many clients, and going to coffee shops or meetings at a noisy pizzeria just don’t cut it when you want to be a professional. I honesty enjoy the fact that Surge can fill that gap. I recommend this for small business owners that work from home, but want to have a space to meet with clients and network with other thought leaders in the community.
